In Loving Memory
McComiskey-McFadden, Brianna Lynne - Infant daughter of Jennifer McComiskey and Sandy McFadden, was born and died on Saturday August 30, 2003, in IWK Grace Hospital. Besides her parents, Brianna is survived by her sister, Alexandria McFadden, Kentville; grand parents Linda and Dale McComiskey, Yarmouh; Douglas and Susan Williams, Berwick; great-grandparents, Ruth and Chesley McComiskey, Charlesville; Reta Bustin, Yarmouth; Doris Eagles, Moncton; great great-grandmother, Hope Bustin, Bridgewater; several aunts, uncles and cousins. A private family graveside service will be held Septemeber 6, in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Memorial donations in Brianna's name may be made to IWK Health Centre Foundation.

We would like to personally thank you all for the incredible support you have given us throughout this pregnancy. I know you all watched so closely these past 8 months as a miricle was developing. On the evening of August 29th my water broke and given that I was 34 weeks pregnant we were to go straight to the IWK Grace. We arrived and I was monitored the entire time as my labour quickly progressed. We knew our baby was early, but I think we all felt she would be fine. After 15 hours of labour Brianna Lynne was born on August 30th at 11:02 AM. Brianna weighed 6 lbs 15 ounces and had a little fuzz of blonde hair and bright blue eyes. She was truly beautiful and amazing.

From the start Brianna had difficulty breathing on her own. Her stomach was enlarged and she was very sick. She was immediately put on all life support systems. At the time the doctors had thought she had a virus in her system. A few months later we discovered that she had a vascular tumor in her liver. The tumor had taken over 3/4 of her liver. She fought very hard, but had been without the proper amount of oxygen for too long and no one was sure how much brain damage would be the result. I think she knew how sick she was and would be if she survived. Brianna passed away around 8pm on August 30th.

Brianna was buried in the Brookside Cemetery in Bridgewater, NS on September 6th, 2003 along side of her Great Grandfather who will watch over her for us. We all realize that she was an amazing gift that was taken from us too suddenly, but we also know that she is in a better place above. Thank you again for all your support as we will always grieve the loss of our little baby girl.
